Joan Pauline Saroff, born June 22, 1933, in Frederick South Dakota, to Edward and Stella Geranen, died Aug. 14, 2018.
In her life of 85 years, this little South Dakota farm girl was happily married for 64 years to Manuel Newman Saroff. While raising three boys, Kenny, Dale and Ricky she succeeded as wife, mother, grandmother, scout leader, bookkeeper, devoted member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
“A friend to many and loved by all.”
Her hobbies included bowling, gardening, photography, traveling and sightseeing. Joan’s most precious times were family gatherings.
Survived by brothers Dayton (Connie), James (Darlene), Dennis (Karen) and Russell (Cindy); brothers-in-law Don, George, Al (Noreen), Paul (Ruth) and Ted (Dorothy); sisters-in-law Sophie and Vivian; daughters-in-law Sandy, Lorna and Maria; grandchildren Tyler, Samantha, Bridgette, Monica, Cecelia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Sneider, Sullivan and O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA. Inurnment Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA. Leading us in prayer, Pastor Connie Winters-Eulberg, St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.
