James (Jim) Deitschman, a longtime resident of the Bay Area, passed away on March 24, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 11, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Menlo Church, 950 Santa Cruz Avenue, Menlo Park.
Jim was manager and chief flight instructor of Skyway/Airline Transport Institute and Golden Gate Aviation in San Carlos and the chief pilot of Gateway Charters in San Jose.
Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen. Children: Debbie (Bob), Tracy, Lynelle, Jason (Elaine), and former daughter in law, Jenny. Grandchildren: Kyle (Cherish), Adam, Brittany (Zack), Kaitlin, Jordan (Gessel), Jacob, Joshua, Sarina, Savannah and four great grandsons.
Sister: Joan and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Jarrie Jean, and son-in-law, Wayne.
