Duke Godtfredsen, born Dec. 17, 1939, died Dec. 14, 2018, at the age of 78, after a long illness.
“He was known to most as one of the nicest men ever who never had a bad word to say about anyone and was dearly loved by family and friends.”
He was an avid sports fan. He loved the 49ers and Giants. He mostly loved watching his grandsons playing basketball for Hillsdale High School.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie, his children Scott Godtfredsen (wife Shannon) and Leanne Plantillas (husband Eddie), his grandsons Sean and Seth. Preceded in death by his son, Kenny Godtfredsen.
Duke was a graduate of Sequoia High School, class of ’58. He worked in the moving business for 46 years and retired in 2003.
Visitation hours will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel in Redwood City. A committal service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec 28, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road in Colma. Services cared for by Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel in Redwood City.
