Alice Joyner Maroney, born June 15, 1942, died Feb. 23, 2018.
Alice went from entry level to vice president in her lifetime banking career in the San Francisco Peninsula. She loved bowling and reading. She was an active member in the Order of the Eastern Star, and past Grand Worthy Matron. She was a member for over 40 years to the St. John’s United Church of Christ, in San Bruno, California.
She is survived by her daughter Lora Aragon; son-in-law Dennis; grandsons Nathan and Nico; sister Elizabeth Pool; nieces and nephew Pam Coulter (Tom); Julie Romero (Sergio) and Mike Gidal (Connie) and their families. Also survived by many friends throughout her life. Preceded in death by her mother Martha Carpenter Joyner and her father James Morgan Joyner.
She began her courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease in 2005. She fought strong and never gave up hope; astonishingly keeping her mental well-being all the way to the end of her fight. Donations to any Parkinson’s research groups would be appreciated.
She will be laid to rest in her family plot at Highland Cemetery, in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. A memorial at Atria Senior Care Residence in Rocklin, California, where she lived for eight years prior, will be scheduled in the near future.
