Two California Highway Patrol officers were injured when their patrol vehicle crashed early Thursday morning on southbound Highway 101 near Woodside Road in Redwood City, according to CHP Officer Art Montiel.
Shortly after 3 a.m., the two officers were responding to assist another unit when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the highway’s center divide, Montiel said.
Both officers had to be extricated from the vehicle. They suffered minor injuries and were taken to Stanford hospital, Montiel said.
Montiel said that both officers are OK and have since been released from the hospital.
The southbound lanes of Highway 101 were blocked between Whipple Avenue and Woodside Road for more than two hours. The scene has since been cleared and all lanes have reopened, Montiel said.
