A man accused of punching a boy skateboarding and attacking several people in San Mateo in 2020 has pleaded no contest to the crimes, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Jebrayl Safi, 34, of Fremont, was accused of punching a 14-year-old skateboarder on El Camino Real near Third Avenue and then attacking a woman, 63, and a man, 59, near El Cerrito Avenue on Nov. 9, 2020.
The unprovoked attacks resulted in his no contest plea Aug. 16 to felony assault and being sentenced to one year in county jail, the DA’s Office said. He has credit for time served, and his next court date is Oct. 17.
