Mills High School presents "Homeroom,” a musical about the joys and difficulties of life in high school. Lots of dancing and catchy songs will be performed by Mills High’s most talented. Performances began Thursday and will run through the weekend. Shows are at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mills High School auditorium, 400 Murchison Drive, Millbrae. On Saturday, May 17, New England Lobster and Sorensen Lobster Feed will sponsor the Fourth Annual Lobsterfest benefit for Camp Okizu, a special place for kids with cancer.
The event features a complete lobster dinner, raffle, silent and live auction and dancing to the music of Key Lime Pie. The Lobsterfest will be held at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds, 2495 S. Delaware St., San Mateo. A no-host bar begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person. Must be over 21 to attend. Tickets are available at www.lobsterfestbenefity.org or call 288-1979. Camp Okizu provides a summer camp experience for children with cancer and their siblings. These programs individually and collectively work together to honor and encourage the youth of the San Mateo Union High School District. In May, the Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards honored and presented awards to 21 seniors in Northern California high schools. Among those seniors one is from San Mateo County. Winners included: Giselle Marie Alvarez of San Mateo who attends Notre Dame High School. Alvarez was awarded the silver medallion for leadership.

Fourth grade teacher Nancy Madigan Nejasmich, who dedicated over 40 years teaching children at Clifford School in the Redwood City Elementary School District, was honored recently through a memorial fund and bench dedication.
Over her lengthy tenure, Madigan Nejasmich touched many lives. To continue her legacy of dedication to high achievement, friends initiated a Nancy Madigan Memorial Fund which will be used, in her honor, for educational support funds at Clifford. The bench will be dedicated on campus on May 30.

Borel Middle School’s Dream Theatre proudly presents the musical, "Cinderella,” at the Bayside Performing Arts Center, 2025 Kehoe Ave. in San Mateo, May 16 through May 18.
The timeless fairy tale of dreams coming true is told through elegant dance numbers, charming costumes and the enchanting music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Directed and choreographed by Desiree Toledo, with vocal and orchestral direction by Christine Rasmussen, this pre-high school adaptation of "Cinderella” features a cast of 42 sixth, seventh and eighth grade actors.
Performances are Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults. Order forms are available at the Borel Middle School office, 425 Barneson Ave. in San Mateo. Advanced ticket orders can be placed by e-mail at lavenderhills@comcast.net. Tickets will also be available at the door.
