One of the people allegedly behind a 2024 smash-and-grab jewelry robbery in San Carlos was arrested this week in Oakland, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
Tyrone Hill, 18, was arrested Tuesday with help from the Oakland Housing Authority Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Hill, along with two other suspects who are still at large, is accused of robbing the Home Consignment Center on Industrial Road in San Carlos at about 3 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2024, while it was open, sheriff’s officials said.
The trio allegedly smashed through a door to the shop, ran to the jewelry department and used hammers to break into display cases before stealing about $56,000 in jewelry and making their getaway.
Hill was arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary and grand theft, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
