SAN MATEO COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION INSTALLS 2018 OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND HONORS LOCAL ATTORNEYS. On March 2 at the Old Courthouse in Redwood City, the San Mateo County Bar Association installed its 2018 officers and Board of Directors. 2018 Executive Officers are President Peter F. Goldscheider, Vice President David Silberman, Treasurer Kathleen A. Durrans, and Secretary Monica Castillo. The 2018 Board of Directors is James “Kevin” Allen, Jacquelyn M. Brown, Chinhayi Cadet, Michael T. Carney, Joseph P. Crawford, Melissa Karlsten, Laura M. Mazza, B. Douglas Robbins, H. Yvonne Seeley and Paul A. Wilkins. The event was also the occasion for the association to honor a select group of its members. Bernard T. Cotter received a Special Lifetime Achievement Award. Cotter has practiced civil litigation since 1960. He has vast experience in the courtroom, bringing more than 130 jury trials to verdict. Mr. Cotter is a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 1970. Since 1996, Mr. Cotter has been the Editor of The Docket, the San Mateo County Bar magazine, and in 2007 the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association named him George M. Corey Trial Lawyer of the Year. John S. Digiacinto received the James M. Dennis Memorial Award, presented in recognition of the attorney whose courage and determination, even in the face of adversity, contributes significantly to justice in the community and raises the ethical standards of the San Mateo County Bar Association. Kevin Nowack was presented with the Dennis L. Woodman Memorial Award, given in recognition of the Private Defender who heedless of opposition and with ceaseless determination fights for those whose liberty or lives are in peril. Sadhana “Sandy” Narayan received the William Nagle Jr. Memorial Award, presented in recognition of the attorney whose successful innovations and selfless commitment of time and energy advance the professionalism of the San Mateo County Bar Association.
