Schwarzenegger downplays Trump and backs Vatican initiative to 'terminate' global warming
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Arnold Schwarzenegger is throwing his weight behind the Vatican’s environmental initiative. He's downplaying the Trump administration's climate skepticism. He says individual choice, local policies and the moral leadership of the Catholic Church are far more important than national politics in the environmental campaign. Schwarzenegger was at the Vatican to headline a three-day climate conference marking the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ landmark 2015 environmental encyclical, Laudato Si (Praised Be). The document cast saving God’s creation as an urgent moral imperative. It launched a broad, grassroots movement that Pope Leo XIV has fully embraced and made his own.

Those employees represent the vast majority of its remaining staff. Voice of America is a government-funded broadcaster founded to counter Nazi propaganda during World War II.
A new policy on access at the Pentagon has journalists and the Trump administration at odds
New rules that limit the access of journalists in the Pentagon and appear to condition entry into the building on agreement to restrictions have led to a standoff between the press and the Trump administration's defense department. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's team characterizes it as an effort to protect national security, but journalists see it as an effort to exert control and avoid embarrassing stories. The new policy says defense department information "must be approved for public release by appropriate officials, even if unclassified. Classified material faces even tighter restrictions. The department wants journalists to sign a letter agreeing to, or acknowledging, the new rules, but there is resistance.

Saint Laurent blooms with oversized drama, ’80s power and Madonna in Paris show
PARIS (AP) — Anthony Vaccarello has brought drama to Saint Laurent's show at Paris Fashion Week. On Monday night, he used gigantic white flowers as a cinematic backdrop, contrasting with bold and extravagant clothing. Floor-sweeping gowns with frills evoked 1970s archival pieces and petals at twilight. The designer's love for oversized elements reached new heights, with giant bow collars and exaggerated power shoulders reminiscent of the early ’80s. Sheeny trench coats clung lean and skeletal. Vaccarello mined Saint Laurent’s heritage but stripped it of nostalgia, letting the silhouette itself speak. It was pure theater, showcasing style as discourse.
