The Notre Dame de Namur University men's basketball team hung with St. Mary's for 18 minutes but could not keep up with the Division I school in the second half as the Argos dropped below the .500 mark with a 86-39 loss.
NDNU (3-4) trailed 30-22 with two minutes left in the first half before the Gaels (1-0) used an 8-1 run to take a 15-point lead into the locker room.
In the second half, St. Mary's held the Argos to just 18 percent shooting from the field and outscored NDNU 48-16 over the final 20 minutes.
Brad Pringle was the only NDNU player to score in double figures, scoring 12. Keith Miyakusi added 8.
The Gaels had five players score in double-digits with Daniel Kickert leading the way with 15. He also pulled down 10 rebounds.

Mercy-Burlingame athletes named to all-league teams
The West Bay Athletic League announced its all-league teams for the fall season and a number of Mercy-Burlingame athletes made the cut.
In volleyball, sophomore outside hitter Kelly Gorrell was named to the first-team while junior outside hitter Meghan Denton was named to the second team. Junior setter Jessica Gatt was an honorable mention.
Two Crusader tennis players were named to first team. Senior Justine Ramos and her sister, sophomore Christina Ramos, were first-team selections. Senior Jen Lowe garnered second-team honors. Senior Jenny Lovewell was an honorable mention.
In golf, junior Courtney Jaimeson was named to the first team while Meghan Chavez was a second-team selection.
Ellen Thompson was a first-team selection in cross country with Kelsey Johnson being named to the second team.<
