The Bears posted their second straight shutout with the win over the Bearcats.
M-A (6-1 overall) beat Half Moon Bay 39-0 Monday.
Bears quarterback Mae Kunihiro threw three touchdown passes, while Ryland Caelius added a 14-yard pick-6.
San Mateo falls to 3-3 overall.
Mills 52, Half Moon Bay 12
Alexis Ivankov and Amaya Moore each scored a pair of touchdown to help lead the Vikings’ rout of the Cougars.
Kaylee Huynh, Lena Vaka and Alyssa Peñas each added touchdown, as well, for Mills (3-0 overall).
HMB (0-2) got a pair of touchdown runs from quarterback Kirsten Holmes.
Burlingame 55, Terra Nova 0
The Panthers came up with five interceptions that they returned for scores as they cruised past the Tigers.
Quarterbacks Kendall Gorshen and Olivia Delucchi combined to throw three touchdown passes for Burlingame (2-0 overall).
Terra Nova falls to 0-3 on the season.
South City 7, Jefferson 0
Tiffany Nnebe rushed for the only score of the game to give the Warriors the win over the Grizzlies.
South City improves to 2-1 on the season, while Jefferson is still in search of its first win.
Aragon 6, Hillsdale 0
Madisen Ketcham’s interception return for a touchdown was the only score as the Dons got the best of the rival Knights.
Aragon improves to 3-1 with the win, while Hillsdale falls to 3-4.
Boys’ water polo
Menlo School 20, St. Ignatius 5
The Knights beat the Wildcats for their second straight win to start WCAL play.
Leading 6-2 after the first quarter, Menlo (2-0 WCAL, 7-1 overall) poured it on the second quarter, scoring seven times to lead 13-3 at halftime. The Knights added seven more goals over the final two quarters.
Hunter Coleman was nearly unstoppable for Menlo, scoring nine times. Calvin Barad finished with a hat trick, while Lincoln Bott and Andreas Profit both added two goals apiece.
Alex Stoffel ran the Knights’ offense to near perfection, finishing with eight assists. He also was a beast on defense, coming up with five steals.

Menlo-Atherton 10, Sequoia 8
The Bears jumped out to a three-goal lead after the first period and then held off the Ravens the rest of the way.
Sequoia (1-1 PAL Bay, 6-3 overall) beat Woodside Monday and are now 1-1 against the teams with which the Ravens shared the 2024 Bay Division title.
Navid Riahi and Jack Bullard each netted a hat trick for M-A (2-0, 4-3). Bears goalie Michael Poirer finished with 14 saves.
Hillsdale 19, Carlmont 14
Leading 6-4 at halftime, the Knights erupted for eight, third-period goals to carry them past the Scots.
Hillsdale (1-1 PAL Bay, 4-2 overall) and Carlmont (1-1) combined for 10 goals in the fourth period, five goals each.
Isaiah Yeager had another big game for the Knights, finishing with six goals and four assists. Callum North, Callum Karr and Taner Heindenreich each had hat tricks for Hillsdale, as well.
Nathaniel Dempsey, Aeron Gurkskis and Eli Samon all scored three times for the Scots.
In other action ...
Matt Derossett scored five goals to lead Burlingame (1-0 PAL Bay, 2-3 overall) to an 18-3 win over Priory (0-2), which got a pair of goals from Allen Wu.
Sacred Heart Prep (3-0 overall) notched a huge victory over JSerra-Gardena (4-1), 15-5 in the Gators’ final tuneup before the South Coast Tournament.
Girls’ water polo scores
Sabina Sutaria notched a hat trick for Menlo, but St. Ignatius came away with a 6-4 win in a WCAL match.
Addison Gatley scored six goals to lead Terra Nova (1-0 PAL Bay, 2-2 overall) to a 13-4 win over Carlmont (0-1, 0-5).
Menlo-Atherton (2-0 PAL Bay, 3-3 overall) beat Sequoia (0-1), 13-3.
Burlingame (2-0 PAL Ocean) topped Half Moon Bay (0-2), 14-4.
Girls’ golf
Burlingame 225, Half Moon Bay 253
Sharon Sims-Calozi led the Panthers to the win over the Cougars at Half Moon Bay Golf Links.
Sims-Calozi, a junior, took low-round honors for the day, carding a 36 — the only sub-40 round of the day. Olivia Evangelista added a 45 for the Panthers, Candace Hu a 47, Cindy Zhu a 48 and Adi Evans rounded out the scoring for Burlingame with a 49.
Half Moon Bay was led by senior Bella Piercy, who shot a 44.
Sequoia 187, Capuchino 233
The Ravens topped the Mustangs at tough Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae.
Sequoia was led by Presley Ackerholt, a sophomore, who fired a 31. Olivia Macuga had a 36 for the Ravens, Kaitlyn Knockey a 38, with McKenna Cuneo and Ella Kennedy rounding out the scoring with 41s.
Capuchino was led by Lieni Latu, who finished with a 36. Karen Rogers came in with a 42 and Setaita Mau a 48.
