Aragon 221, Mills 222
The Dons stayed undefeated by the skin of their teeth as they pulled out a one-stroke win over the Vikings in a showdown of undefeated teams at Peninsula Golf & Country Club in San Mateo.
The two No. 1s — Aragon’s Kate Chong and Mills’ Irene Hur — were separated by one shot. Chong carded a 3-over 38 to take low-round honors. Hur finished with a 4-over 39.
The difference in the match came at the No. 5 scoring spot. Aragon’s Ariel Ogawa carded a 46, while Mills’ Maddie Capute finished with a 50.
Autumn Ogawa shot a 45 for Aragon (5-0 PAL Bay), while Vicky Ferrero and Hannah Lin each had 46s for the Dons.
Rounding out the scoring for Mills (4-1) — Angelina Chen had a 41, Christina Chen a 44 and Kayli Tseng a 48.
Boys’ water polo
Burlingame 13, Menlo-Atherton 10
The Panthers pulled off the upset of the early season and thrust themselves into Bay Division championship discussion by beating the previously undefeated Bears.
Matt Derossett led Burlingame (2-0 PAL Bay, 8-5 overall) with six goals. M-A (2-1, 4-4) got a hat trick from Navid Riahi.
San Mateo 17, Half Moon Bay 6
The Bearcats stayed undefeated in Ocean Division play, beating the Cougars.
Edward Choi paced the offense for San Mateo (3-0 PAL Ocean, 4-3 overall), scoring six goals. Nicolai Asmar added four goals while Bearcats’ goalie Darius Poess came up with 11 saves.
HMB (1-2) got a trio of goals from Zander Miller.
In other action ...
Capuchino (1-1 PAL Ocean) got its first win in division play with a 12-9 decision over Terra Nova (0-2).

Hillsdale 25, Capuchino 5
The Knights scored seven goals in the first period and eight more in the second as they cruised past the Mustangs.
Hillsdale (3-0 PAL Ocean, 5-4 overall) led 15-4 at halftime.
Vanessa Vieira scored five goals and assisted on a fifth for the Knights, while Megan Wong had a goal and five assists.
Capuchino falls to 0-3 in Ocean play.
San Mateo 10, Half Moon Bay 7
Hannah Young paced the Bearcats in their Ocean Division win over the Cougars.
Young scored five times for San Mateo, as the Bearcats improve to 2-1 in Ocean play and overall.

Charlotte Gulielmi and Ari Beser led Burlingame (3-0 PAL Ocean) to a 12-2 win over Mercy (1-2).
Notre Dame-Belmont (1-2 PAL Ocean, 4-3 overall) escaped with an 8-6 win over Mills (2-1).
Flag football
Menlo School 40, St. Ignatius 12
The Knights led 27-12 at halftime before pulling away in the second half for a West Catholic Athletic League-opening win over the Wildcats as they stayed undefeated on the season.
Junior quarterback Ava Allen accounted four five touchdowns — four passing and one running — while also adding a pair of conversion.
Maren Mulloy caught a pair of first-half touchdown passes in the first half, while freshman Claire Barkley returned an interception for a score as the Menlo defense posted a second-half shutout.
