Half Moon Bay 11, Mills 3
Trailing 3-1 in the sixth, Half Moon Bay (3-1 PAL Ocean, 6-5 overall) exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the inning to close out a two-game series sweep against Mills (0-2, 3-5).
The Cougars sent 16 batters to the plate in the inning, including a game-tying double from junior Clark Colucci and a go-ahead single by junior Riley Jackson. Colucci tabbed two hits in the inning, and went 3 for 4 with three RBIs to pace the Cougars. Jackson, Paxton Holden and Alex Ryan each added two hits and an RBI.
Senior right-hander Maverick Johnson earned the complete-game victory, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits. Johnson dueled with Mills starting pitcher Tino Janke through three scoreless frames, before Mills broke the seal with a run in the fourth on sophomore George Campos’ RBI double. HMB tied it in the fifth with an RBI knock from Holden. The Vikings responded with two runs in the top of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead.
Terra Nova 8, San Mateo 1
Senior Aiden James went 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs and the plate, and shoved for six innings of work on the mound to earn the win as Terra Nova (1-1 PAL Ocean, 5-3 overall) earned a two-game series split with San Mateo (1-1, 7-4) in Pacifica. James is now batting .346 on the year, and .500 (7 for 14) in games that he’s pitched. He improves to 2-1 with a 2.06 ERA on the mound. Junior Jesse Martinez added two hits with an RBI for the Tigers, while junior Jesus Olivas drove in the lone run for the Bearcats.
Design Tech 5, More 2
Reilly Sutton and Camren Tom combined on a one-hitter, as the Dragons (3-0 PSAL, 4-5-1 overall) swept their first Private School Athletic League series of the season at More-San Jose (2-2, 4-6). Sutton worked 4 2/3 innings to earn the win. The junior right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and four walks, while notching a career-high 10 strikeouts. Tom closed it out with 2 1/3 hitless innings to earn the save. Junior Aidan Tom led Design Tech with three hits, including a double and an RBI, while senior Diego Carrasco added two hits and an RBI, and senior Logan Garrett had a single and two RBIs.
El Camino 16, Crystal 0
Five different Colts recorded multi-hit games, while senior right-hander Adrian Iniguez fired an abbreviated two-hit shutout in the five-inning mercy-rule win at Sea Cloud Park. El Camino (5-0 PAL Lake, 9-2 overall) has now won five straight, and is one of two unbeaten teams in PAL Lake Division play, along with Harker-San Jose. Carlos Alcala went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Hiro Wong and Connor Uchida each recorded hits for Crystal (1-4, 1-7-1). Iniguez has now won two straight starts to up his record to 2-0.
Harker 6, Westmoor 1
Harker junior Shaurya Jain struck out 15 to notch a new career-high as the Eagles (4-0 PAL Lake, 8-4 overall) rolled to the win over the Rams at Washington Park in Santa Clara. Jain went the distance, allowing one run (none earned) on two hits and a walk. Junior Ryan Pham went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for Harker. Senior Matthew Cote and junior Cristian Fausto each tabbed singles for Westmoor (0-3, 3-4).

Hillsdale 13, Carlmont 2
Mia DeMartini and Ania Aleshi each homered, Lola Jones tallied two doubles and three RBIs, and Hillsdale (2-0 PAL Bay, 5-4 overall) rolled to a five-inning mercy-rule win at Carlmont (0-2, 3-6-1). The Lady Knights led 3-2 after three innings, and added four runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth. Junior starting pitcher Sophia Lebron earned her first varsity win, allowing two runs (none earned) on four hits through three innings of work. Jones closed it out with two shutout innings. Carlmont senior Clara Pachetti and sophomore Scarlett Kisich each had a single and an RBI.
Capuchino 7, Mills 2
Lily Thomas had a double and three RBIs and the plate, and went the distance in the circle, as the Lady Mustangs (1-1 PAL Bay, 4-4 overall) earned their first PAL Bay Division win of the season at home against rival Mills (0-2, 5-3). Cap has now won three of its last four. The Mustangs got on the board in the second on a two-run double from Thomas. Then in the third, Thomas capped a three-run rally by getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Junior Setaita Mau paced Cap with two hits and an RBI. Lucy Esquivel and Isabel Chen eached totaled two hits with an RBI for the Vikings.
Sequoia 18, Half Moon Bay 5
The Ravens (3-4) scored eight times in the first and seven more in the second to cruise to a five-inning mercy-rule win at home against Half Moon Bay (6-5) in non-league play. Sequoia opened the first with five straight hits, and sent 12 batters to the plate in the inning, with Nisha Mehta and Jamie Elkington recording two hits apiece in the frame. The two each added hits in the second. Elkington finished 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Mehta was 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs, and sophomore Maren Ocken finished with two hits and four RBIs. Senior Miranda Sarabia paced HMB with two hits.
St. Francis 7, Burlingame 0
Lancers pitchers Bianka Fisher and Hailey Nguyen combined on a two-hit shutout to lead St. Francis (7-1) to a non-league win over Burlingame (6-5) in Mountain View. St. Francis junior Peyton Tsao connected for her fifth home run of the season. Seniors Sophie Lin and Kendall Gorshen each singled for the Panthers.
