Menlo-Atherton 3, Homestead 0
Two pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Bears topped the Mustangs. Starter Max Brubacher and reliever Tyler Rosenthal were nearly unhittable for M-A (5-2). Brubacher went the first five innings in picking up the win, allowing two hits. Rosenthal got the save with two-innings of one-hit ball. And they let their defense work Brubacher struck out just one and walked two. Offensively, MJ Ellazar and Will Roberts supplied the offense, driving in a run each, as three pitchers for Homestead (3-2) held the Bears to just four hits.
Half Moon Bay 5, Carlmont 2
Tied at 1-all after one inning, the Cougars scored twice in the third to propel them to the win over the Scots. HMB (2-4) added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings. Carlmont (3-3), after that first-inning run, did not score again until the bottom of the seventh. Grant Goetz and John Dunne each drove in a run for the Scots.
Westmoor 15, SF Waldorf 5
An eight-run outburst in the bottom of the fifth turned a tight game into a Rams’ blowout win. Both teams scored two runs in the first, with Westmoor (4-1) scoring three in the bottom of the second for a 5-2 advantage. But Waldorf (1-2) chipped away. The Wolverines scored two in the top of the fourth to cut its deficit to 5-4 and then tied it with a run in the top of the fifth. Westmoor responded with with eight runs in the bottom of the inning and added two more in the sixth to put the game on ice. Jeremy Zhang and Matthew Cote paced the offense for the Rams. Zhang went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, while Cote hit a bases-clearing, three-run triple. MJ Lim, Nicholas Au and Nathan Ho all added two RBIs for Westmoor.
Summit Shasta 22, Jefferson 1
The Black Bears bashed out 13 hits, scored 10 runs in the first and 12 more in the second to rout the Grizzlies in a mercy-rule finish. Caden Frost had a big day at the plate for Summit Shasta (2-2) as the senior catcher went 3 for 5 with a triple and five RBIs. Milo Jung went 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs, Joshua Smith drove in three and Jalen Mingao added two RBIs for the Black Bears. Maxwell Espinola got the on the mound for Summit, giving up one run on four hits while striking out seven.
Mills 8, South City 5
The Vikings rallied for their first win of the season. South City (2-2) scored two runs in the bottom of the first, but Mills (1-4) responded with a four-run third, only to see the Warriors retake the lead in the bottom of the inning by scoring three time for a 5-4 advantage. But Mills took the lead for good with two runs in the top of the fourth and added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings for the win. South City was led offensively by Gabe Martin and Gio Bernal, who both drove in two runs.
Santa Teresa 5, Sequoia 3
A three-run sixth gave the Ravens some life, but they couldn’t come all the way back as they fell to the Saints. Santa Teresa (3-3) scored three runs in the bottom of the first and added two more in the fifth to give the Saints a big enough cushion to weather Sequoia’s sixth. Leadoff hitter Drew Ostrander had two hits and two RBIs to lead Sequoia (2-3).
King’s Academy 4, Menlo School 1
Scoreless through the first four innings, King’s finally broke through with a run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to pull out the win. Menlo (2-4) scored its only run in the top of the seventh. King’s improves to 4-2 on the season.
Riordan 19, Capuchino 1
The Crusaders thumped the Mustangs with a number of multi-run innings. Riordan (4-2-1) scored three in the bottom of the first, four in the third, three in the fourth, four runs in the fifth and rounded out its scoring with a five-run sixth, taking advantage of six Capuchino errors. Capuchino (5-2), held to one run on seven hits, scored in the top of the first on an Anakin Manuel RBI.
Sacred Heart Cathedral 4, Burlingame 2
A three-run fifth carried the Irish past the Panthers. SHC (5-1) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, but Burlingame (4-1) countered with a run in the bottom of the third before the Irish took the lead for good in the fifth. Andrew Gall supplied the only RBI for Burlingame.

Sequoia 5, Branham 4
The Ravens stunned the Bruins by scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to notch a walk-off win. Sequoia (2-3) led 1-0 with a run in the second, but Branham (4-4) took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth and added single runs in the sixth and seventh. The Ravens cut its deficit to 4-2 with a run in the sixth before winning it in their final at-bat. Jada Crockett drove in a pair of runs for Sequoia, while Mehta Nisha went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Annie Gottshall had the other RBI for the Ravens. LuLu Odom got the win in relief of Crockett.
Mitty 13, Carlmont 8
The Scots are still searching for their first win after falling to the Monarchs. Things started well for Carlmont (0-4), as the Scots scored two in the first, three in the second and one more in the third to lead 6-4. But Mitty (5-1) took control with a five-run fourth and added on the rest of the way. Molly Brand went 4 for 4 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI for Carlmont, while Katherine Fung drove in a team-high three runs. Mitty had four players with two RBIs.
Aragon 12, Mercy 1
The nine-run bottom of the third carried the Dons to the mercy-rule win over the Bears. Destiny Garcia supplied the big hit for Aragon (4-6), a grand slam during that nine-run outburst. Olivia Mukherjee added a pair of RBIs for the Dons, as well. Makayla Hafoka got the win in the circle, allowing a run on four hit in four innings of work.
Notre Dame-Belmont 30, Gunn 1
The Tigers scored 16 runs in the second innings to annihilate the Titans. Emma Hogan was 4 for 6 at the plate and drove in a game-high five runs. Allison Lui homered and drove in four runs, with Juliette Ramirez and Eliana Crespin also driving in four runs each. Sklyer Loo also went deep and had three RBIs, with Claire Kimball driving in three, as well.
Woodside 1, Mountain View 0, 8 innings
The Wildcats managed just one hit, but it was enough to pull out an eight-inning win. Scoreless through the first seven innings, Woodside (4-3) finally broke through with an unearned run in the eighth on a Vanessa Carlos single. That made a deserving winner of Hannah Walker, who pitched all eight innings, allowing three hits and two walks, while striking out 11.
Monterey 6, Mills 2
The Lady Vikings were dealt their first loss. Bailey Beauchemin and Jazzy Maske each had an RBI for Mills (5-1-1). Monterey improved to 5-0.
St. Francis 13, Capuchino 0
The Lady Mustangs opened their season with a mercy-rule loss to the Lancers. Lola Sierra had the only hit for Capuchino (0-1), as St. Francis improved to 2-0.
San Ramon Valley 9, Hillsdale 2
The Wolves scored multiple runs in each of the first three innings to beat the Knights in San Mateo. Maddy Peña and Taylor O’Mahony each had an RBI for Hillsdale (2-1-1). San Ramon Valley (4-0-1) stayed unbeaten.
San Mateo 14, Los Altos 3
The Bearcats put the game away with an eight-run sixth inning to beat the Eagles. San Mateo (3-1) was leading 6-3 before the uprising.
