Kennedy 21, South City 20
The Warriors lost a wild one in Fremont, in a game with three lead changes over the last three innings that saw Kennedy (5-3) walk off with the win.
South City (5-3) rallied for seven runs in the top of the first and led 11-8 in the fifth. But in the bottom of the inning, Kennedy swung ahead with a five-run rally. The Warriors fired back with seven runs in the top of the sixth, only to see Kennedy tie it 19-all in the bottom of the frame. South City scored twice in the top of the seventh. Kennedy scored three times in its final at-bat to record the walk-off win.
Each team had eight players record hits. Junior Vince Bernal paced South City with four hits, including a double, two triples and five RBIs. Junior Yordonis Medina-Pineda added three hits with a double and four RBIs for the Warriors, and senior Emilio Oseguera hit his second home run of the season. Seniors Jake Arrowood and Ocean Chiu recorded four hits apiece for Kennedy.
Carlmont 9, Los Altos 3
After taking a six-game losing streak into Friday, the Scots (4-6) have now won two straight, swinging their way to the non-league victory at Los Altos (4-6). Seniors Ryan Weiss and Levi Wellman each recorded two hits with a double and an RBI for the Scots. Wellman earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits through 4 2/3 innings. Junior reliever Ryan Kelly closed it out with 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
Palo Alto 13, Menlo-Atherton 0
Palo Alto senior Greg Lee hit two home runs, and starting pitcher Jonathan Chen worked six scoreless innings of three-hit ball as the Vikings (4-4) notched a shutout at Menlo-Atherton (2-7). Junior reliever Sho Newman worked a scoreless seventh for Palo Alto. Lee was 3 for 4 with a pair of solo homers. Senior Max Brubacher doubled for the Bears, for one of the team’s five hits.
Gunn 11, Design Tech 1
Gunn-Palo Alto (3-6) used two runs in the bottom of the fifth to walk off with a five-inning mercy-rule win against Design Tech (2-5-1) at the Belmont Sports Complex. Gunn freshman Erik Lo went 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs, while sophomore pitcher Ronan Kimble earned the complete game, allowing one run on three hits while striking out five to earn the win. Junior Aidan Tom paced Design Tech with two hits.
Cupertino 5, Half Moon Bay 4
Half Moon Bay led 4-3 going into the sixth, but Cupertino (4-4) tied it in the bottom of the frame then walked off with a run in the bottom of the seventh to win the non-league matchup. The Cougars (4-5) were paced by sophomore Brandon Melo’s two hits and two RBIs, while junior Lane Giannini added a triple and an RBI.

Mitty 11, Burlingame 3
Burlingame matched its season-high of 10 hits, but stranded nine runners throughout in a non-league loss at Mitty (9-2). Senior Kai Watanabe and junior Aaron Lau paced the Panthers (5-4) with two hits apiece.
FRIDAY
Burlingame 9, Menlo-Atherton 7
Burlingame junior Mark O’Grady got the Panthers (1-1 PAL Bay, 5-3 overall) in the win column in PAL Bay Division play by starring both sides of the ball at Menlo-Atherton (1-1, 2-6). O’Grady paced all batters with three hits, and worked six innings of relief to earn the first win of his varsity career.
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but couldn’t hold it as M-A got into the bullpen in the bottom of the frame. O’Grady took over on the mound with no outs and finished the first with the game tied 3-all. The right-hander went on to work six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and five walks, while striking out two. Burlingame jumped ahead with a run in the third and rallied for five more in the fifth. Liam Philibosian added two hits with a double and two RBIs, and Grayson Howard had two hits and two RBIs.
M-A’s Merrick Lee and Ryder Kelly each homered in the game. Kelly, Owen Coupe and M.J. Ellazar totaled two hits apiece.
Capuchino 11, Evergreen 0
Dominic Fanara enjoyed a big day at the Mustangs (8-2) rallied for 10 runs in the third to nab an abbreviated five-run mercy-rule win at home against Evergreen Valley-San Jose (3-5) in San Bruno. Fanara went the distance, firing a two-hit shutout while striking out five to improve his record to 2-0. At the plate, the senior fell a home shy of the cycle, going 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs improving his season average to .514. Sophomore Jaxon Lazzari added two hits with a double and two RBIs for Cap, upping his average to .571.
Carlmont 11, Live Oak 1
Senior Benjamin Taylor went 3 for 3 with three RBIs to lead the Scots (3-6) to a shortened five-inning mercy-rule win at home over Live Oak-Morgan Hill (4-6). The win snaps a six-game losing streak for Carlmont. Sophomore starting pitcher Jacob Shinseki went the distance, allowing one run on five hits while striking out six. Junior Giancarlo Enferadi added two hits and two RBIs for the Scots.
In other action ...
Aragon (5-3) trailed by three in the sixth, but rallied back to earn a 4-3 walk-off win at home over Lincoln-SF (2-6).
