Pacifica 10, Alpine 0
Pacifica rallied for 10 runs through the first three innings, including a big seven-run third, to advance through the elimination bracket against San Mateo National at Ford Field.
Lincoln Balagot laced and RBI double to left to get Pacifica on the board in the first, and Jack Delgadillo followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0. In the second, Keoni Lee singled home a run to make it 3-0. Then P-Town unloaded in the third, loading the bases with a single by Chase Tevis, a walk from MJ Spears and a hit batsman by Balagot.
Tevis scored the first run of the rally when Delgadillo reached on an error. Devin Nieve was then hit by a pitch to force home Spears, and Preston Diao walked to bring in Balagot. With two outs, Jace Harrington walked to drive in Delgadillo, and Miles Tucker walked to bring home Nieve. Lee delivered an RBI single to right to score Diao. RJ Villazon then walked to force home Harrington to cap the scoring.
On the mound, Delgadillo went the distance in the abbreviated mercy-rule format, allowing three hits and nothing wild while striking out one to earn the shutout victory. Delgadillo threw 28 pitches, 20 for strikes.
Jack Schneider, Ryan Cohen and Connor Murphy recorded one hit apiece for Alpine.
With the win, Pacifica advances to the semifinals of the elimination bracket Sunday to face San Mateo American at 10:30 a.m.
Alpine posted a 2-2 record in the tournament. Their roster includes Schneider, Cohen, Murphy, Tommy Brock, Paul Drews, Brandon Pyle, Gavin Arditi, Thatcher Clegg, Greyson Davis, Nixon Strict, Duke Cassell and Everett Bochnowski.
Hillsborough 10, San Mateo American 0
Brady Lien singled home two runs in the bottom of the third to cap Hillsborough’s 10-run output and clinch the mercy-rule win after four innings against San Mateo American in the semifinals of the winners’ bracket at Ford Field.
Hillsborough scored four runs in the first and four more in the second. Mico DeMartini and Nolan Togretti had two hits apiece, while Lien, Jack Veach and Dylan Viera each recorded two RBIs. Hillsborough totaled nine hits on the day.
Three pitchers combined on the abbreviated three-hit shutout. Starter Momo Lubarsky fired 2 2/3 innings of one-hit ball, walking three and striking out three. Mikey Sakai closed out the third with one-third inning of work. Caroline Gherini struck out the side in the fourth to close it out.
Noah Jones, Jacob Armstrong and Joey Pettigrew recorded one hit apiece for American.
With the win, Hillsborough advances to the championship round starting Monday at 5:30 p.m., and will face the winner of Sunday’s elimination game between San Mateo American and Pacifica. Hillsborough need be defeated twice to be denied the title, while only needing win once. An if-necessary game is scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Alpine 9, San Carlos 8
Reliever Connor Murphy pitched through two two-on, two-out rallies to close out the win as Alpine advanced through the elimination bracket with a win over San Carlos at Ford Field.
Murphy survived a perilous fifth inning, shutting down a San Carlos three-run rally, notching a strikeout with two on and two out to keep the one-run lead in check. Then in the sixth, San Carlos sparked a two-out rally with William Byrnes reaching on an infield error, and Will Warner drawing a walk. Murphy finished it with a strikeout to close out the win.
A wild back-and-forth contest saw Alpine jump ahead with three runs in the top of the first. San Carlos responded with four runs in the second, but Alpine scored six times in the third to take back the lead at 9-4. San Carlos got a run back in the bottom of the inning.
Then in the fifth, Gino Flores and Drew Beals sparked a one-out rally for San Carlos with back-to-back singles. With two outs, Dom Rhein reached on an error to score Flores. Matty Weisman then singled home Beal, and Jimmy Hannah followed with an RBI infield single to score Rhein, closing the deficit to 9-8.
Murphy had a big day for Alpine at the plate, going 1 for 3 with a triple and four RBIs. Tommy Brock led the way with two hits, including a double and an RBI, while Everett Bochnowski, Nixon Strict and Paul Drews also recorded RBIs.
San Carlos totaled 12 hits, paced by Flores’ 3-for-3 day. Weisman, Byrnes and Warner added two hits apiece.
With the win, Alpine advances to play an elimination game Saturday against Pacifica.
San Carlos posted a 2-2 record in the tournament. Their roster includes Flores, Beals, Rhein, Weisman, Hannah, Byrnes, Warner, Robbie Zaroor, Miko Zaroor, Austin Anderson, Lev Beliak, Charlie Sullivan and Hunter Hoffman.
Pacifica 10, San Mateo National 8
Pacifica overcame deficits of 5-1 and 7-5 to earn the win as elimination game against San Mateo National at Ford Field. Jack Delgadillo tied it with an RBI single in the fifth, and Preston Diao followed with a go-ahead two-run triple.
National jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first, and added to it with a three-run second. An RBI double from Luke Cruz made it 3-1, Brandon Laguna followed with an RBI single, and Caden Jensen drove home Tommy Falzon with an RBI groundout. Pacifica rallied back to tie it, scoring one in the third before Devin Nieve scored on a passed ball in the fourth to cap a three-run outburst.
National took the lead back 7-5 in the bottom of the inning. Falzon reached on an infield error to score Cruz. Falzon later scored on a passed ball. But Pacifica roared back int the fifth. Hunter Potencion sparked the comeback rally with a one-out single then scored on an RBI double by Lincoln Balagot to make it 7-5. MJ Spears then drew a walk to set the stage for the heroics of Delgadillo and Diao.
Diao earned the win on the mound, working 1 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one unearned run on two hits. Potencion closed it out with one run in and two outs in the sixth, notching a game-ending strikeout to earn the save with one-third of an inning of work.
