Three Paly pitchers climbed up the mound at Trinta Park’s North Field — the same mound where, in 2022, San Mateo American pitcher Matthew Ward threw the first of his team’s four no-nos through the All-Star 10s summer season — to combine on the five-inning, mercy-rule no-hitter. Starting pitcher Mateo Benford Garcia worked 3 2/3 innings, allowing one walk while striking out five, and Jack Fee walked one batter before Blanco entered to get the last four outs.

The offense gets a big assist in the no-hitter. Paly led 5-0 through four innings, and sent 14 batters to the plate in the top of the fifth for a 10-run rally. Beau Jefferson paced the offense, going 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Thunder Pagano-Alfrey added two hits with a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Tommy Falzon, Kyle Buckley and Colton Murphy pitched for National.

With the win, Palo Alto advances through the elimination bracket for a Friday matchup against Hillsborough.

San Carlos 6, Foster City 0

Starting pitcher Michael Brown fired 2 2/3 scoreless innings, and Luke Balestreri and Javin Dharmadhikari followed in relief to combine on a five-hit shutout against Foster City at Trinta Park.

Brown allowed four hits and one walk, while striking out three to earn the win. Balestreri held it through 2 2/3 innings, and Dharmadhikari got the last two outs to finish it. Brown added two hits with a double and an RBI at the plate, Fletcher Carlson had two hits and an RBI, and Will Warner added two hits.

Easton Szerenyi, Xander Chen and Gabriel Chavez pitched for Foster City. Neil Wan paced the offense with two hits.

With the win, San Carlos advances through the elimination bracket for a Friday matchup with Redwood City.
