The Lady Bulldogs (8-0 Coast, 31-0 overall) took care of business Tuesday, scoring in each of their four at-bats to claim a 16-1 mercy-rule softball win over Chabot College (0-8, 2-24) on the Hilltop.
College of San Mateo was powered by home runs from Katie Johnson, Kaylee Poulos and Hannah Ames. On the heels of an RBI double from Nia Mapa in the first, Ames followed with a three-run blast. After Maliah Castro singled home a run to cap a five-run first, Johnson connected for a solo home run in the second, her 12th of the year, to spark an eight-run inning. In the fourth, Poulos added a two run shot.
Five CSM pitchers did the rest, with Lola Sierra, Mapa, Gianna Tassio, Marilyn Rivas and Kierstin Wick working one inning apiece. Sierra earned the win to improve her record to 17-0.
The Bulldogs have now won 31 straight to start the season, and extend their overall win streak dating back to last year to 47 games.
