Editor,

The Journal does a decent job of separating news from opinion and speculation. A report “In Other News” reviewing Luis Elizondo’s book about UFOs (Aug 21) was an exception. It presented Elizondo’s beliefs as factual, reporting that he was “…laboring for decades to learn who the visitors are, where they are from, and what they want.” It says Elizondo quit his government job “…so he could go public with much of what he knows about the presence of visitors whose vehicles are far more advanced than what we earthlings have built.”

While not explicit, a book by Annie Jacobsen, "Area 51" debunks most of UFO sightings. It turns out many, if not all, of them are actually heretofore secret CIA and US Air Force aircraft, some of them experimental. These agencies will never declassify what they were and are doing in the name of national defense.
