Editor,
Wake up California, our state’s No. 1 threat to our quality of life is at it again.
Philadelphia’s unsolicited gift and habitual pursuer of notoriety, state Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, has pen in hand and is “stirring it up.” This opportunistic, self-promoting, “ground zero” of every piece of controversial legislation just introduced Senate Bill 961 to require all new cars sold in California to be governed at no more than 10 mph above the legal speed limit.
Is his bicycle exempt? Make no mistake, this cheesesteak loving transplant could care less about safety, affordable housing, or any other legislation he shoves his nose into, it’s all about his political ambitions. He has his sights set on Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat and we can be thankful she is not ready to vacate it to clear a path for him. He won’t be happy until our home, his “political land of opportunity,” is unrecognizable.
Just because he is at the wheel of the “Wienermobile” doesn’t make him an expert on mph but he certainly is qualified on SID, “Special Interest Donors.” Just check his campaign coffers. While my cars can easily exceed Mr. Wiener’s limitations, he has many, I drive safely and I am seldom in a hurry. The only “hurry” I endorse, is to give this “carpetbagger” a one-way bus ticket back to Philly and we’ll limit the bus to 10 mph over the legal speed limit. This meddling outsider needs to learn what happens when you come between Californians and their cars.
