Editor,

Upon the capitulation of the Nazi and Hirohito’s regimes, both Western Germany and Japan adapted a form of government structure that was modeled after the proven system of the United States of North America.

Dirk, President Biden was not “unceremoniously booted from the throne”. He freely stepped down when he realized his chances of winning were declining. He then did what was best for the country and stopped his campaign. Have you heard of voting by acclamation? The Democratic party then opened it up for any interested other persons and, being none, universally accepted Kamala Harris. Further, there is not a hue and cry, save desperate Republicans, for her removal on undemocratic grounds.

Since you asked, here is a flagrant example of anti-American values: an attack on our Capitol on 1/6 by thousands of right wing Republicans who would not accept the votes of the people. Who defaced our property and set up gallows to hang their own VP. Is that the kind of legacy you prefer?

Dirk van Ulden

Rel - as usual, you are totally oblivious. Biden was forced out which was confirmed by Pelosi herself. Which Democrats were asked about Harris' candidacy? None that were known to anyone. It is the machine that propels her. Our democratic process does not include voting by acclamation. That is done in China and some other countries that you seem to admire. Don't come up with the tired 1/6 garbage, it is overblown and tiresome. Why, of all folks, you are desperate to find an excuse for your Party's undemocratic activities while accusing Trump of the same, is beyond me. The rabid left never sees evil if it is conforming with its agenda.

Westy

So now the nomination of Harris is undemocratic and evil. Fascinating. Still really digging to find something that will stick, aren't we. It's like the gigantic hullaballoo on the right over Obama saluting a guard with a coffee cup and saying nothing to Trump giving an actual military salute to a Chinese general. But you keep digging, keep trying to find some muck to throw. It's slim pickings so far, though I imagine more things will be concocted as we get closer to the election.

Dirk van Ulden

Westy - again, who nominated her? You, me, or the other millions of Democrats? They had no say in the matter and now, in lock step, all have to support her even though she would not muster a single nominate vote when she ran the first time. Why are you so adamant to support her? Because it is a vote against Trump? Is that the American value? No digging here, it is all on the obviously surface of Democrat Party machinations. And, BTW, your anecdotes are silly and meaningless.

Westy

Again, Dirk, what do you care how the other party arrives at its nomination? The Republicans nominated Trump not because most Republicans supported him but because he is backed by big money, Russian money and Russian propaganda, and continual coverage by a mainstream media addicted to scandal. It's not what the majority of Republicans wanted (at least as the party was constituted before so many left it during the Trump years)

Good morning, Westy

The DNC's closed-door process to move Kamala Harris to the front of the line was undemocratic. Joe Biden was completely prepared and, according to the DNC, completely fit to serve a second term... until about six weeks ago. He was forced to resign, and he was replaced by a lackluster substitute. Millions and millions of primary votes cast by loyal Democratic Party members were nullified.

Republican Party 2024 primary vote totals… Donald Trump: 17,015,756 votes; Nikki Haley: 4,381,799; Ron DeSantis: 353,615; all others: 513,705.

Donald Trump, 17,015,756 primary votes… nominated to represent the Republican Party.

Democratic Party 2024 primary vote totals… Joe Biden: 14,465,519 votes, uncommitted: 706,591; Dean Phillips: 529,664; all others: 908,328. Kamala Harris: zero votes.

Kamala Harris, 0 primary votes… nominated to represent the Democratic Party.

Well, Dirk, you are entitled to your opinion, but not your alternative facts. If the American public is so convinced that Kamala’s candidacy is so undemocratic, then all the enthusiastic crowds everywhere she goes are uninformed in your view.

As to 1/6 being tired garbage, you are right it is garbage, and our nation is still outraged. It is certainly not tiresome and overblown, except in the extreme right’s view who would like to sweep it all under the rug as if it never occurred. It did occur and it was the most egregious example of spitting on our Constitution and our voting process in general. Trump, despite your objections to the contrary, spurred it on, ignored it for hours, and has called the convicted rioters “patriots” ever since. He was complicit in every way and the courts will provide his justice in due time.

Terence Y

Speaking of garbage, we have Rel, yet again, not accepting the fact that Pelosi has taken responsibility for allowing 1/6 to occur. Of course, Rel still isn’t able to accept the fact, alternative or not, Obama put kids in cages so anything Rel writes is suspect.

Not So Common

Rel, don't you ever get tired of twisting the facts? Good grief, your gray matter must look like a pretzel and facts are inconvenient. And now you are making up your own facts, or lies. BTW, cackling Kamala's enthusiastic crowds are paid for Hollywood actors and seals and she needed her VP candidate to hold her hand during an interview with Dana Bash.

Westy and Rel: Incredible, all the nonsense the other, dark side has to cook up to put Kamala down, - probably because Trump told his blindly following sheep to do so. And what did they pick, and still are divinely obsessed with? A dishonest, sleezy sexual pervert, with multiple bankruptcies, who never has had a more educated majority behind him, only someone so stuck in the past that only someone called “Republican” would do, no matter what he has done or is promising to get us into if, heaven forbid, he should be selected again, thanks to Republican cheating, voter suppression and all-around-dirty games. All this would have been avoided, if it hadn’t been for the idiotic Electoral College.

When on flat Earth will they learn, and understand?

Dirk van Ulden

Rel - they many have been enthusiastic but they did not and were not given the opportunity to vote for her. Even Taylor Swift draws bigger and paying crowds. Please refer to Ray's response which shows that you are, as usually, duped by your TDS.

Jorg, both parties represent the same interests of Wall Street and western plutocrats and globalists. Harris recently appointed former Blackrock execs and a Wall Street lobbyist to head her economic team, which had controlled Biden. Trump in his first term surrounded himself with execs from Goldman Sachs among others on economic policy. The only part of the Republican Party Dems are up in arms about is the Trump side and are completely in agreement with the Bush's and Cheneys of the world. Liz Cheney just endorsed Harris. Both parties represent the neocon foreign policy endeavor to control the other 95% of humanity, if needs be through nuclear war. They both represent control and looting of the U.S. economy by corporations , but with slightly different styles. The Biden administration has instituted mass censorship and survellance to control the U.S. population, courtesy of the intelligence agencies and Big Tech. Thought crime is now a reality in the U.S. and the western so called democracies. The F.B.I. and other agencies under Biden and in the so called free world are detaining and harassing so called information terrorists, mainly journalists, if if they don’t go along with the corporate narrative.

With Trump, there is an independent streak, if it is real, and perhaps the powers that be are worried they can’t control him 100%. With Harris no doubt she has sold herself to the devil long ago and will attempt the folksy charm of Obama to fool the public in to thinking she is looking after their interests. As we saw with Biden, Obama and Clinton, it is a big lie.

Westy

Jorg, yes. What really amuses me is how they are suddenly fans of democracy, when they had no trouble with the attempted overthrow of a free and fair election, and no trouble with supporting someone who advocates autoritarianism, and no trouble with the electoral college nonsense, and no trouble with the Supreme Court stopping the vote counting in Florida and appointing George W

Jorg: incredible, all the nonsense from Rel and Westy regarding Pelosi’s dereliction of duty while taking responsibility for 1/6 – probably because their Democrat overlords told their blindly following sheep to do so. Methinks you should tell them that tactic won’t work, since the truth is out there. I do see you have converted Westy to your (and only your) version of the EC. I guess we can see how little a conspiracy it takes to fool Westy. Meanwhile, for something much more interesting and relevant, Commie Kamala’s policies can be found at https://kamala2024policies.com.

edkahl

You are absolutely correct. Kamala’s nomination circumvented all primary voting procedures when top officials in the Democrat Party decided on who should run. The nomination could and should have been re-opened to a broader base of Democrat primary voters. Rule 13J of the delegate selection rules allowed for convention delegates to vote for whomever they wanted to vote for. The Democrats exposed their more totalitarian instincts.

Thank you, Rel. You are more articulate than I am. I agree 100% with your comments.

Yes SMpool - keep on wallowing in your ignorance. That is what makes an informed voter?
