On Nov. 4 , 2022, two young men were involved in a high speed drag race on El Camino Real in San Carlos, not far from where I live. Two adult parents were killed as result of the young men’s reckless driving. One of the young men involved at the time was 17 years of age, the other driver was 23 years of age at the time and tried as an adult. He received a far longer sentence than the younger driver.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Thom. Unfortunately, I see a winner: the youngest driver who is not serving any time and is likely enjoying his life to the fullest, even after causing the deaths of two people.
