The Dec. 2 “Other Voices” column is from the Washington Post and it is a typical progressive opinion piece about the workings of our judicial branch. Citing lack of oversight on members of the Supreme Court regarding ethics and recusal, the Post urges the installation of an oversight committee separate from the Supreme Court, thereby creating a new layer of bureaucracy.
How stupid is that? The Supreme Court is supreme because it is the highest court in the land, the top of our judicial branch. The check and balance for the top court is the top of the executive branch and the top of the legislative branch with impeachment. The Washington Post shows a severe lack of understanding of our system when it suggests that a higher court could be assembled to oversee the top court. It would be a Supremer Court, higher than the Supreme Court.
I’m not being facetious. The progressive leaning Washington Post really believes in a Supremer Court!

Logical points, Mr. Constantino, but logic has no place when you have a rabid left-wing agenda. Besides, we all know this “Supremer Court” idea will soon need to be overseen by a “Supremist Court” when the Washington Post doesn’t agree with decisions by their proposed “Supremer Court.” Then of course, we’ll need an “Ultimate Supreme Court” and then an “Ultimate Supremer Court” and so on until the Washington Post is satisfied.
Progressives will forever seek to end run the Supreme Court to install their agenda because their ideas can't muster much support for a constitutional amendment.
Mr. Kahl,
By end run are you speaking about the type of end run like the two by McConnell? You remember when he said almost a year is too short of a time for Obama to nominate a new Justice and the Justice should be nominated by the next president. Then with only a few weeks left in Trump's term he rushed Amy through the system rather than have the next president nominate. Is that the end run you speak of?
