Scott Abramson does not need to cite “right wing” news sources to prove that mainstream media lies and covers up for Democrats.

I would add that the left's deception comes from the Democratic Party's leadership not garden-variety party members. However, those members have been conditioned to repeat the left's deceptions endlessly. They are quick to claim that the leadership on the right side of the aisle engages in all sorts of mendacity... and that certainly happens... a lot. A key difference is that folks on the right side of the aisle also dismiss the exaggeration, misstatements, and fabrication coming out of the Oval Office. Does anyone really care about hyped claims that say our southern border is now the most secure border in the history of the universe? No. What people care about is that criminals are no longer sneaking across the border in the same numbers and the ones that are caught are being deported.

You will not see the same grasp of reality on the left. Where is the left's outrage at being duped about Joe Biden's cognitive decline, the invented Russian hoax, the misery caused by a wide-open border, the deceit surrounding Hunter's laptop, and Afghanistan? The list goes on. We're not likely to hear that outrage as the good people who form the rank and file of the Democratic Party have been bamboozled. Their party will get better when they select new and capable leadership... let's see if that happens.

Ah Lisa, the hypocrisy of the right continues unabated. Donald Trump lies like most people breath and nearly no one in his party objects, especially those in Congress in positions to do so. The “alternate facts” is the party's mantra and truth is illusive everywhere. This administration is breaking records in collusion, corruption, chaos, and stupidity and you want to blame the media for our country's problems. It is appropriate to ask of the right “Have you no shame?”

We had this conversation last Thursday…

Why does the left rail against Trump's lies yet give a pass to lies pushed by the Democratic Party's leadership? I believe we should be critical of lies from both sides of the aisle. IMO it is intellectually dishonest to criticize only one side’s lies. The current flap over the left’s very public claims that Joe was at his best until his abysmal debate performance last June is maybe the best example of the left’s deception while at the same time railing nonstop about Trump’s lying.

You stated that you personally do not give a pass re: hiding Biden's infirmities from the public. Then added, “The Democratic party paid the price for it by insuring Trump's election.” When I asked if hiding Biden’s infirmities would have been OK if the Democratic Party’s leadership had not got caught… the response was the rustling of wind pushing tumbleweeds across a deserted road.

Ray, your question was asked and answered in public. The debate happened and all who saw it knew Biden was no longer fit to serve. But, you are not being intellectually honest either. Why is Trump getting a free pass nearly daily for lies and actions that would totally disqualify previous presidents? Why is his party being totally complicit? The left is not outraged just because it is Trump. It is outraged that all the lying and actions therefrom are doing damage to the country that may take decades to undo. Trump is so outrageous that now his behavior is being excused as he is “just being Trump” while conveniently forgetting lives are being lost or our Constitution being ignored. Was Biden impaired during his last year in office? Of course. Does that even compute compared to the blatant corruption of taking a $400M plane from a foreign leader? Does it compare to innocent people losing their birthright citizenship or due process in getting exiled? Does it compare to the president making billions over the issuance of cryptocurrency and audiences with him for millions in fees? Trump is a corrupt conman with a lot of power which stymies his followers from telling the truth or acting on it. Therein lies the tragedy and outrage from the left.

Question… was it OK for the Democratic Party leadership to lie about Biden’s condition as long as they didn’t get caught? I’m still waiting for your answer. BTW… the Democratic Party is fond of concealing the extent of serious medical conditions for Democrat presidents: Wilson, FDR, and Kennedy come to mind.

Trump is not getting a pass, but it might be easier to understand the left’s droning mantra, “Orange Man Bad!” by recalling Salena Zito’s article in The Atlantic (a decidedly left leaning news source) two months before the 2016 election. She wrote about Trump’s claims, “… the press takes him literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally.” There’s still an element of that today. Trump supporters cringe at his behavior but like the results. Kamala had no message in 2024 except “Orange Man Bad!” while implying Trump supporters were fascists willing to tear down our democracy. Fortunately, most Americans… including record numbers of minority voters… were tired of the Democratic Party’s failed leadership. Is the border more secure? Have you checked the stock market lately? Do you see progress in foreign affairs compared to the preceding four years? Did we see the leadership of the Democratic Party: Hakeem, Chuck, AOC, Jasmine, Ilman, et al. doing much more than letting their fear and hatred of all things Trump affect their cognition and emotional well-being? That’s TDS on full display… and we see plenty of it in these pages, too.

The left is boring. They have no viable platform, good ideas or strong leaders. All they have is running against Trump which puts Trump on her front page every day. We need a strong two party system and the Democrats aren't holding up their end of the bargain. They should give up the idea of importing future voters from Mexico and earn it from our own citizens by listening to what they want.
