Editor,

With all the federal cost cutting in the news lately, I’ve been thinking of ways to help the super rich get their luxury underground apartments on the moon and Mars. One idea, get Elon Musk to convert all U.S. Navy ships to self driving. Why stop there? Because we’re not the leaders of the Free World anymore, Fire all military personnel and replace them with for-profit private contractors. With the trillions of our tax dollars we’ll save, the king might give us some of our money to fix our potholes, and rake our forests since it’s mostly federal land. There should be a lot of money left over, maybe for that beautiful health care plan I heard somewhere.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Rancatore, but if we fire all military personnel and replace them with private contractors, how are we saving money? We’d still have the same number of personnel. And don’t some/all Navy ships have some form of auto-pilot? But hopefully we’ll save $trillions saved so we can return to Making America Great Again. BTW, in California, imagine if we cancelled the union giveaway known as the train-to-nowhere. Newsom would have $billions for health care and raking of forests.

What's the Left's obsession with the super rich? Other counties would love to have our tech billionaires move to them and create companies with good paying jobs that would increase standards of living and economic growth not to mention the taxes they pay which are some of the most progressive taxes in the world.

Hello, Frank

I have a suggestion for your list of real ideas. How 'bout we take some of the money reclaimed by DOGE and purchase lift recliners for Congressional Democrats? That way, it'll be easier for them to stand and honor a 13-year-old cancer survivor.
