Editor,

I can only hope we weren’t given the full story in a recent Journal article. In it, the Assembly voted to approve $50 million to help fight the deportation of people illegally in our country. At the end of the article it states that $4 million is given to cities to help with the rebuilding of lost homes and $1 million to help rebuild lost school buildings. And we wonder why the rest of the country shakes their head when the talk is about how California is governed.

Unfortunately, Mr. Howard, voters get the government they deserve. It is likely that this $50 million slush fund will go to cronies and making lawyers rich in attempting to protect criminals above that of legal California residents. We can only hope Trump will withhold federal funds for anything and everything and California voters will need to decide whether they’ll continue to support treasonous Dem politicians.

Aren't the actions in Sacramento mirrored by those in Redwood City, i.e., the county and the state are on the same page here, no?
