Letter writer Steven Howard agrees with writer Jorg Aadahl that “Trump, dictators’ favorite instrument.” Both of these men think Trump has obvious flaws. They support one or the other of the two major political parties. I disagree with them both.
I think we need to get over our loyalty to any political party and vote for candidates who will promise to vote as we direct them. When our “representatives” vote as directed by their “donors” and not the people, our democracy is destroyed. We need to elect people who will heed the voice of the people.
The people want the endless wars to end. The people want our tax funds to be used to take care of our people and protect our environment. The people want to feel secure in the value of our currency.
We fear that the value of the dollar is collapsing. In our Constitution it states that our monetary system must be under the control of our Treasury Department. This is not how it is. Now the Federal Reserve controls the value of the dollar. The Federal Reserve is neither a federal agency nor does it have any reserves.
Wake up people and pay attention. It is time for us to awake and fight for real democracy.
