Editor,

Bankruptcy for all! In our near future? I think it is, unless we adopt an emergency frame of mind well before a crisis like the present chaos in L.A.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Caggiano, but if Democrats who have been in office for the longest time didn’t care about wildfire management, it’s apparent they also don’t care about so-called climate change. The forest fires in SoCal are likely emitting more carbon than what California has “saved” in the past decade. Thanks for the advice but perhaps what would be more helpful and what may make a difference is what you, personally, are doing to save us from so-called climate change.

Well we can't argue that there aren't 'FEED BACK LOOPS' At work here but we just do what we can on a personal level. My life includes two EV's and using as little of the earth's bounty as possible, such as being a cheapskate when buying stuff and throwing away as little as possible. I donate to the Goodwill if possible and that sort of thing. True enough, individuals are a bit captive to the system we live in, but that's why I'm such a bigmouth and try to persuade others.

cheers good buddy

Mr. Caggiano, isn’t it harder to persuade others when you have two EV’s instead of one? You’ve doubled the amount of harm to the environment in mining precious metals for your battery packs. You’ve doubled your “contribution” to hazardous waste when your batteries have outlived their useful life. You’ve increased the electricity (of which half, on average is generated via fossil fuels) required to charge your EV’s. I give you credit for trying (although I’m not sure how effective you are) but if no climate-change pushers can explain why it’s okay for folks to take 400+ private planes and who knows how many public planes to attend climate conferences to of all things, lecture everyone else on carbon emissions, why would anyone be persuaded to accept, or consider, their message. Chances are they’ve emitted more carbon than many of us will ever emit in our lifetimes.

2 EVs yep, you can tell my wife to trade it for a bicycle. I'll hold your hat and render first aid.
