Brad Gerstner, founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital, has been working with lawmakers to promote a legislative program called Invest America. This program would create an investment account seeded with $1,000 for each child born in America every year. Mr. Gerstner has been working with many corporate executives who would support this program. The details are still to be worked out, but now would be a great time for the citizens of America to provide their input and let their Representatives know that this legislation is vital to the growth of America!
Personally, the first year of the program should include every child in America under the age of 18, This would provide the financial opportunity to all the children in America. This would be a huge deficit, but well worth the long-term benefits. Giving all the children in America a financial base with money for college, a home or starting a business can only pay off in the long term.
So, if you agree, please write your representatives and make sure this legislation is completed this year. The sooner it is implemented, the sooner America see the results.
It sue is easy to give away someone else’s money. Unless these folks are going to retroactively give me $1000 plus interest from when I was born, why should we subsidize others? Perhaps Mr. Gerstner and others of the same mindset can give away $1000 of their own money to every child born in America. If they walk the walk, perhaps we’ll listen to their talk. What are the chances that will happen?
Put this idea on the ballot, and let the big hearted, generous democrats check a box. When tax time comes, the government divides the number of the $1,000 recipients by the number of individuals who checked the box. As Terrence, said, let the individuals who agree "walk the walk."
One million recipients divided by zero big hearts = ZERO.
Jorg, does your head see strange figures, and or do you believe you are Joe Biden? Since you are not able to comprehend because your liberal interpreting app is flummoxed, let me help. I said.... "One million recipients divided by zero big hearts = zero". That's the same as your gotcha line "What is anything divided by zero?" Still flummoxed? It means democrats who are always in favor of giving other people's money away, will not check the box if it means they will be required to GIVE and help financially.
