During the current energy crisis, the city of San Mateo is not only handling the emergency situations that arise from rolling blackouts, but also doing its part to conserve energy within daily operations and to plan for long-term conservation solutions.
The city is prepared for rolling blackouts and manages these situations when they occur. An Energy Contingency Plan has been prepared by the city's Office of Emergency Services so that there is a method for handling these emergency situations.
The plan outlines the communication procedures for notification of the Police, Fire and Public Works Departments so they can provide services to affected areas.
