With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Stan Silverstein, a devoted family man, respected Realtor, and lifelong Redwood City resident, who passed away peacefully at age 87.
Stan graduated from Sequoia High School, Menlo College, and the University of Colorado. He built a legendary career over 60 years as the owner of Silver Realty and Silver Management Company, earning a reputation for integrity and dedication. He was a longtime member of the Million Dollar Club, President of SAMCAR in 1974, Chairman of the Board of the Presidents Committee, and a Lifetime Director on the Board of the California Association of Realtors.
Stan shared over 50 wonderful years with his wife, Barbara Silverstein, and later found happiness with his companion, Deanna Dooley.
He loved hosting gatherings at his homes in Redwood City and Incline Village, boating and waterskiing, participating in Redwood City parades, playing golf, and cheering on the Warriors and 49ers. Above all, family was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his daughters: Pamela Bergmann (Joseph), Deborah Starkman (Steven), and Sharon McLeod (John); ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary Silverstein; sister-in-law, Janet Silverstein; and companion, Deanna Dooley.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Covenant Church, 3560 Farm Hill Blvd., Redwood City, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sequoia Hospital Foundation.
