If you never had a chance to meet Robert, aka Bob, Bobby, Papa, Uncle Bob or Mr. Wonderful…you really missed out.
A true one-of-a-kind, Robert Louis Brugioni was born on February 28, 1939, passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 85. Cherished husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Bob was born in San Francisco to Angelina and Luigi and was raised in Daly City with younger siblings Ron, Carol and Rick.
Bob married his Jefferson High School sweetheart Linda Bertucci, wife of 65 years, who shared his love of family, cruising the high seas and all things Italian. Together, they raised their 3 children Randy, Andria and Russell in San Mateo, where Bob was active coaching basketball, socializing at the Italian Club, water-skiing at Clear Lake and vacationing in Arnold.
Upon Bob’s retirement after 40 years as a plumber at Gigli Co, he and Linda purchased a vineyard in Santa Rosa, where for the past 15 years they grew grapes for commercial use. Not only were his grapes used by one of the most successful wineries in California, Bob also won gold medals in home wine making competitions at the Sonoma State Fair. Bob was an avid collector of pens, coins and trinkets valued more for their sentiment, perhaps, than for their actual worth. Bob spent his days riding his tractor, tinkering with his trains in the barn and greeting visitors with the gift of his opinions on any topic, which were usually unfiltered, rarely requested and always authentically Bob.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, siblings and his beloved sister-in-law Marsha. He is survived by his wife Linda, children Randy (Bryn), Andria and Russell, grandchildren Jordan, Darryn, Dominic, Vincent, Lauryn and eight nieces and nephews.
