Argie Pitcock, 91, of Daly City, California, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on December 5, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to John and Efthalia Leventis, she grew up in San Francisco alongside her beloved sisters Morfea, Lillian, and Theodora. She cherished memories of helping at the family restaurant, riding streetcars, and exploring the city with her sisters.
Argie worked at the Bank of California before pursuing her teaching credential at San Francisco State University, where she met the love of her life, Eldridge (Ed). They married in 1962 at the original Holy Trinity Church in San Francisco and settled in Daly City. With marriage, she was honored to become step-mother to Edwin and Brian Hill. A devoted teacher, she delighted in working with young children and spent summers traveling the world with Ed and dear friends.
Argie and Ed welcomed their daughter Mary Kathryn in 1971, followed by Marcus in 1973 and Connie in 1976. After years at home with her children, she later returned to the classroom. Her greatest joy was her family—especially her many grandchildren—and she treasured time with her fellow Ikarians, travels near and far, and the deep bonds she held with extended family and friends.
Argie is survived by her children Brian (Leslie), Mary, Marcus (Andrea), and Connie (Jeff), and by her cherished grandchildren Laurel, Quinn, Ioannis, Emilie, Adora, Eli, James, Sophia, Eleni, Joseph, Charlie, and Nia.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Trisagion at 7pm at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City, CA. Funeral service on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco, CA. Burial to follow at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park.
