Silence fills the navy blue tent as Giovanni ZoppƩ makes his way to the center of the stage with a chest.

Flipping it open, he retrieves a can of white makeup, a gift he received from a mentor when he first became a clown at the age of 10. He dips his index finger inside the can, then makes circular motions following a line of color from his forehead to his cheek and finally, to his chin. Replacing his brown hat, he crowns himself with a bright, tomato-red one.
