A paint storage facility near Redwood City was destroyed by a two-alarm fire early Tuesday morning but no one was injured, a fire official said. Firefighters responded to the blaze at 341 Berkshire Ave. in North Fair Oaks just after 1:30 a.m. and found the 3,500-square-foot structure engulfed in flames, Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman said. Initial reports that an employee was inside the building were inaccurate and firefighters have since searched the premises and found no one, Schapelhouman said. The blaze was controlled by 4 a.m. No other structures were damaged. Crews had cleared the area and a street sweeper was cleaning the nearby roads as of 9 a.m., Schapelhouman said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though Schapelhouman said the blaze does not appear to be suspicious.
