Deputies with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office have organized a canned food drive in collaboration with Samaritan House until Dec. 16, giving back to the community this holiday season.
After a tumultuous year for the Deputy Sheriff’s Association, including a political campaign resulting in a charter amendment and a groundbreaking change in leadership of the Sheriff’s Office, the union is excited to give back to the community, DSA President Carlos Tapia said previously.
Residents are welcome to drop off canned goods and nonperishable items, which will be gathered and donated to Samaritan House, a core service agency in San Mateo County.
Bins are located in front of both county correctional facilities and the Sheriff Office’s San Carlos and Millbrae substations.
The Maguire Correctional Facility is located at 300 Bradford St. in Redwood City. The Maple Street Correctional Center is located at 1300 Maple St. in Redwood City. The San Carlos substation is located at 600 Elm St. and the Millbrae Substation is located at 581 Magnolia Ave.
