A Redwood City resident with a prior sex offense was sentenced to six years in prison for felony child molestation, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Fidelino Jesus Ruiz, was found guilty by a jury in February 2025 of felony child molestation and annoyance after coming up to a minor at the Redwood City Courthouse and asking to be her boyfriend and have sex with her, hugging her tightly and suggesting they run away to Mexico.
Previously, Ruiz took a plea deal for 2021 sex crimes including coming up to a 16-year-old girl at a bus stop and grabbing her breasts, eventually pulling out a condom and asking her for sex.
