A fifth wheel at a mobile home complex in unincorporated Redwood City caught fire Monday afternoon, but was quickly contained with no neighboring units affected, officials from Menlo Park Fire District said.
Crews were dispatched at 2:44 p.m. in response to a structure fire of a mobile home trailer at 2499 E. Bayshore Road. The fire was called in from a bystander, Fire Marshal Gage Schlice said. No one was inside, but the fire displaced two.
Firefighters contacted the American Red Cross to get the residents aid and living assistance, Schlice said.
The fire was largely focused on one side of the fifth-wheel mobile home, but there was smoke damage to the entire trailer, Schlice said.
