Redwood City police are investigating a collision last week in which a 17-year-old lawfully crossing in a crosswalk was hit by a car driven by a Menlo Park man who allegedly ran a red light on the 2700 block of El Camino Real, according to police.

At about 12:10 p.m. Monday, May 5, police were called to the scene and discovered the minor hit by the car. He was taken to the hospital with significant injuries and remains in critical condition. The Menlo Park man, 64, was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Police contacted witnesses and collected video evidence.

And would you look at that ...

so far no concerns or call-to-action from Senator Becker or Assemblymember Bergman like in the case of 'alleged accidents' by speeding cars on CA-92:

and the "debilitating medical event" is a ruse.

An eyewitness saw the driver stepping out of the car while on the phone.

Now the reason the DA is ignoring that witness and leaning into the "medical" excuse is the fact that San Mateo County is working for some 25 years on the "Grand Boulevard Initiative" to make ECR safer and a "complete street".

But since they have done nothing since 2013, anyone suing the cities and the county would gain millions in damages. They know how dangerous this street is, but instead Becker, Mueller, Bergman are all about creating more racetracks and promoting more speeding, 'allegedly' of course.
