The show runs through Sunday, April 15 with shows at 7 p.m. April 12 through April 14 and a 2 p.m. matinee show on April 15 at 400 Murchison Drive, Millbrae. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors.

Well-known children’s writer Joanne Ryder will be awarding commendations to fourth and fifth grade students at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17 at Audubon Elementary in Foster City. These students submitted work to "The Writing Journal” an annual publication at Audubon of exemplary student writing.

Youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula are helping raise funds to prevent and treat Malaria. The youth group will be hosting Dance for Life, a benefit dance on Friday, April 20 at the organization’s Mervin G. Morris Clubhouse in Redwood City. The event will raise awareness and funds to buy bed nets for the organization Malaria No More to distribute to families in need.

The bed nets, which will be distributed by UNICEF and other groups, cost approximately $10 each including purchase, distribution, education, monitoring and evaluation. Between 350 and 500 million people get malaria each year and more than one million die — mainly kids in Africa who are less than 5 years old.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula hopes to raise a minimum of $2,000. The group is currently seeking donations, as well as individuals and/or companies to match what the kids raise. For more information contact Chris Canter at (415) 336-2999.

Kelsey McNellis, a 2004 graduate of Menlo-Atherton High School, is spending the 2007 winter term studying at the Lawrence University London Centre. A junior at Lawrence, McNellis is the daughter of David McNellis and Erica Richter of San Carlos.

The 10-week program emphasizes British culture and history through field trips to local museums, concert halls and theaters as well as weekend excursions to the English countryside and the European mainland.

Burlingame resident Sarah Johnson Redlich gave $1 million to St. Lawrence University to be used for equipping the Johnson Hall of Science, which is currently under construction and slated for completion this fall.
