The Addams Family, the musical comedy based on the beloved Addams Family cartoons created by Charles Addams, is a family-friendly original story and every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

The Addams Family is directed by Allison Gamlen, with choreography by Sabrina Braccini, musical direction by Rick Reynolds and vocal direction by Kay Kleinerman. It takes place at the Hillsdale High School Theatre, 3115 Del Monte St. in San Mateo 7 p.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 and 2 p.m. Nov. 2. Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for students/seniors. Purchase tickets beginning Oct. 1 at http://hhs.schoolloop.com/drama. For more information email hillsdaledramatix@gmail.com.
