A CHP motorcycle officer aiming to remove an electric leaf blower from the two left lanes on southbound Interstate 280 south of Page Mill Road was hit by a 2026 Tesla Model Y thats driver failed to yield Monday afternoon, according to the highway patrol.
At about 1:41 p.m., the officer conducted the traffic break with emergency lights when the car in the number two lane crashed into him. The officer was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained major injuries that were not life threatening.
The three left lanes of 280 southbound south of Alpine Road were closed for several hours to help officers investigate the crash. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated, according to CHP.
