A Chase Bank in Redwood City was robbed Tuesday afternoon with a note handed to a teller demanding money but ended with heavy police presence and an arrest.

The incident took place at about 2:29 p.m. June 24, in the Chase Bank at 2300 Broadway in Redwood City. After the man, identified as Arthur Burton Gillespie, 66, of San Diego, handed over the note, employees activated the silent alarm, which drew the cops. Gillespie allegedly then took a seat in the lounge area of the bank. The bank was evacuated and he exited voluntarily and was then arrested, according to police.
