Central Valley Explorer Competition

The San Mateo Police Explorer Post 211 sent seven Explorers, from left, Victor, Antonio, Abby, Guadalupe, Anna, Betsy and Ryan, to the Central Valley Explorer Competition June 20-21, when they participated in 16 realistic law enforcement scenarios. These included high-stress situationås such as burglary in progress, suspicious person investigations, felony car stops, DUI investigations, hostage negotiations, and critical incident responses. The competition was hosted by the Manteca, Ripon and Modesto police departments. Among a highly competitive field, Post 211 distinguished themselves by earning first place in hostage negotiations and third place in felony car stop.
