Are you a senior? Do you care for a senior? Do you know a senior? Then Saturday’s Senior Showcase Information Fair is for you. Forty exhibitors representing senior resources and services from all of San Mateo County are ready to talk to you about everything from blood pressure to document shredding. The special emcee for this event is former KGO radio personality Jim Dunbar. Live entertainment and refreshments provided.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Burlingame Recreation Center, 850 Burlingame Ave.

Spring is in the air
Spring is bustin’ out all over. Saturday is the Garden Conservancy’s Peninsula Open Day. Take a self-guided tour of unusual private gardens, beginning at 88 Mercedes Lane, Atherton, where a beautiful suburban garden is blessed with magnificent specimens of spectacular trees, including heritage oaks, rare horse chestnut, giant persimmon, dogwood, hawthorne and flowering cherry.

A Cypress Lawn ‘twofer’
Spend the weekend at Cypress Lawn. At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, walk the "Streets of San Francisco” with docent Terry Hamburg as he visits the permanent address of personalities for whom San Francisco thoroughfares such as Larkin, Folsom and Macondray were named. At 2 p.m. Sunday, hear Filoli Curator Tom Rogers speak on "Filoli: The Enduring Legacy of the Bourns, the Roths and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.” Rogers takes you back to the glory days when the Bourns built their dream estate and when the Roths created one of the finest botanic gardens in the country.
