College of San Mateo softball pitchers are making it look too easy.
Siona Halwani
The Lady Bulldogs (18-1) fired their third no-hitter of the season Tuesday, mowing down Monterey Peninsula in an 8-0 regulation win in San Mateo. Since dropping their opening game Jan. 26, the Bulldogs have won 18 straight.
Starting pitcher Siona Halwani (Half Moon Bay) worked three perfect innings to earn the win. Right-hander Nohemi Livingston entered in relief to bridge the no-no with three hitless innings. Kennedie Magorian closed it out with a perfect frame in the seventh. Halwani struck out three. Her record improves to 8-0 on the season in 15 appearances.
At the plate, Vanessa Lang led the way with a 2-for-3 day, with one RBI and one run scored. No. 3 hitter Ari Williams went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.
CSM now ranks No. 1 in the state with a 0.92 staff ERA. Bulldogs pitchers have allowed 46 hits through 114 innings of work.
The Bulldogs’ first no-hitter of the season was on Feb. 3 in a 5-0 regulation win over College of the Siskiyous, with Livingston going the distance. On Feb. 9, Magorian, Halwani and Livingston combined on a five-inning no-hitter in an 11-0 mercy-rule win over Folsom Lake.
