A convicted quadruple murderer facing life in prison without parole must wait another month for sentencing in the county jail although he continually requires disciplinary action.
By the time Alfredo Valenzuela is formally sentenced Aug. 25, nearly a year will have passed since the 25-year-old man was convicted on four counts of first degree murder. Since that Sept. 2 verdict, Valenzuela has had a number of infractions at the jail, including the assault of another inmate just this week. Those charges are on the calendar for dismissal this morning.
The ongoing problems have jail staff frazzled and the prosecution trying to get Valenzuela into the state prison system. However, for a fifth time yesterday, the man's defense attorney successfully had his sentencing delayed.
Judge Stephen Hall expressed exasperation at the lingering case and said he would consider
