The big buzz in Sacramento is about the infusion of a million dollar plus contribution from East Coast interests to help finance the eminent domain initiative sponsored by candidate for lieutenant governor and current state Sen. Tom McClintock, R-Thousand Oaks. Eminent domain is an explosive issue especially since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of New London, Conn., allowing the city to evict several residents who did not want to move to make way for a major development. Even though they lost the lawsuit, the residents are still in their homes because of the public furor.
