Editor,

I am one of hundreds of protestors who has been showing up at Tesla showrooms and charger stations to voice my opposition to the illegal things that Elon Musk is doing to our government.

Thanks for your letter, M. Beavins. A few things come to mind… First, perhaps you’re being paid by Soros, directly or indirectly, to write a letter claiming ignorance of Soros. Second, perhaps the ones creating these organized Tesla protests are being paid by Soros, directly or indirectly, and these organizers are preying upon your emotions for “free” labor in spreading their message. Third, Musk has stated that investigations have found ActBlue-funded groups are responsible for these Tesla “protests” (https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1898369343399899218). Fourth, please ensure that all you’re doing is peacefully protesting because if there are any criminal activities, you may be prosecuted as a domestic terrorist (I’m sure there will be plenty of pictures and video of protesters so don’t be surprised if you’re easily identified). And finally, what do you have against exposing waste, fraud, and abuse or Making America Great Again? Trump and Musk are working for free, BTW.

“Trump and Musk are working for free” ???????

“Terrence” (if that is what your name really is), Trump floats a cryptocurrency days before being inaugurated and increases his personal wealth dramatically ( https://www.forbes.com/sites/digital-assets/2025/01/20/on-trumps-inauguration-day-his-tokens-fill-the-swamp/ ). Musk is pushing his Starlink system onto the FAA, trying to overturn an approved Verizon contract even though Starlink has not passed the safety and cybersecurity tests that Verizon’s system has. ( https://www.pcmag.com/news/musk-faces-complaint-over-efforts-to-get-faa-to-drop-verizon-use-starlink AND https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/03/faa-trump-elon-plane-crash/681975/ ).

And you say to M. Beavins, “perhaps you’re being paid by Soros, directly or indirectly, to write a letter claiming ignorance of Soros.” As a person who spends day after day filling the SMDJ opinion section with pro-Trump comments, it seems much more likely that the analogous shoe fits your foot. Are you getting money from the RNC????

Why editor Jon Mays continues to put up with the over-the-top badgering opposition in the Comments section to anyone who tries to express an opposing opinion to this “presidential administration” remains a puzzle to me. I decided to look at the Comments to this letter simply to see if the usual “Conservative Cabal” had responded, and, sure enough, the expected robotic replies were present, but even more spiced up with threats of video surveillance and prosecution!

Thanks for your response, DavidKristofferrson. Technically, I believe Trump is continuing his policy of donating his salary to charitable causes so essentially, he’s working for free. I don’t believe Musk is receiving any salary so unless you have verifiable facts to the contrary, he’s working for free. As for your logic regarding cryptocurrency or Starlink being payment, that’s a false assertion. They are investments and business opportunities and if they’re profitable, they’re not a salary. Thanks for trying.

You accuse me of receiving money from the RNC but on the other hand, perhaps you, like M. Beavins, are receiving money from Soros, directly or indirectly, or the DNC? Seems to me that it’s more of a possibility since you appear to have all day to post comments or attend various weekday lunches. Are you protesting at Tesla dealerships? BTW, why no outrage regarding the destruction of Tesla cars - they’re part of the solution to the climate change destruction of the world, aren’t they? Do you not support of law and order?

Why the DJ continues to put up with the over-the-top badgering in LTE’s and the Comments section to anyone who expresses support for our (yes, our) great President Trump remains a puzzle to me. Oh wait, it doesn’t – it’s called freedom of speech, for everyone, not just the speech you like. I look almost each day to LTEs and Comments simply to see if the “rabid left” has filled the pages with more easily debunked fake news and lies, and, sure enough, the expected Democrat playbook narratives are present, but even more spiced up with threats to free speech, censorship, doxxing, and personal attacks. BTW, what do you/Dems have against exposing waste, fraud, and abuse?

If M. Beavins believes that there is no funding behind these protests, where do these folks get their professional signs and matching T shirts? Fire bombing, attacking dealerships and Tesla car owners is pure vandalism. It reminds me of the Krystallnacht during which an ethnicity was singled out for no apparently reason other than to create mayhem and stir up hatred. I am not a Tesla owner but can one imagine having to excuse him or herself for buying one when everyone was still in the "Green" mood to save the planet?

Anyone drive a Volkswagen?? Look up the history on that car manufacturer.

During WWII, the Opel Division of GM in Nazi Germany made a fortune building trucks with the Blitz (Thunderbolt) signal on the radiator. That is still used by Opel and was derived from the Blitz Krieg that Hitler unleashed on Europe. After the war, GM claimed millions of restitution for its bombed out factories and received generous compensation from the US. Compare that duplicity with the idiocy of setting Teslas on fire!
